Today I am posting from 30 Rockefeller Center where I’m ACing a pre-taped portion of a live sketch for this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live. It’s my first time on the famed 6th floor where, to my extreme joy and surprise, I discovered The Roots’ 2010 Grammy trophy for Wake Up, their collaboration with John Legend.
As I type, I’m listening to The Roots wrap up their soundcheck with none other than Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon stage. On the monitors in the hallway I can see ?uestlove tweeting from behind his kit, throwing down his phone as Bruce starts to count off.
